It was a fine morning. As usual I woke up from bed, prayed " Thankyou almighty for waking me up to another beautiful day ".... Alike from other days, this day is something special for me. This is the day which me and my new classmates has planned for  a meetup in Portsmouth city. Also this is my first outing since in reach Portsmouth. After the breakfast, as planned me and my new friend Akshita met near Eldon building and started walking through the beautiful pavements of the city.

On our way, we came across a beautiful Mural artwork on a wall of a building. "The standard City Map Mural" by the Artist Mark C.W.Lewis. I was so curious to know more about the painting. Without wasting a second, I began searching on google about the artwork. The Standard City Map Mural in Southsea was originally painted back in 1998 and was unveiled by the local mayor which subsequently won the best landscape award from the Portsmouth society and raised local trade by 30%, employed local artists, trained others, offered free workshops on lower the level creating an amazing pride and community spirit that has lasted over 20 years.

This has also grown to become one of the most well known public art murals on the south coast of England. The google images shows that the lower half of the Mural map has changed several times. Since its initial creation back in 1998, a large focus of the artwork on The Strand in Clarendon Road has been on South sea, with businesses, people and events being immortalized on the wall. The entire artwork represents an assemblage of ideas and emotions of different people.

We eventually met up on Canoe Lake, myself and my friends. The playground, open grass space, artificial lake, swans, and chirping birds are all present at Canoe Lake, which is conveniently located close to the beachfront and the South Parade Pier. The park is one of Portsmouth's oldest. Families and other individuals were strolling near the lake. I observed some of the visitors feeding the swans, laughing together, and watching children approach the swan and then flee inconsolably. I noticed bright smiles, relaxed faces, and sparkling eyes in this really nice and joyful environment.

The lake's surroundings include a beach that is equally stunning. A highly charged atmosphere of conflicting emotions prevailed. There was hardly any crowding on the beach.. What really drew me to the area was the settled gravel down the seafront, which was incredibly tranquil and serene. The gravel serves as a barrier against flooding because this beach is low-lying.

For a little while, my friends and I sat there together to enjoy the lovely, never-ending waves and the winter sun. All of the places we went were emotionally charged. Every single bench there had the inscription "in memory of" engraved on it. Everywhere you look, you can see the imprints of many years of memories left by various people.
